What's uQR.me?
uQR.me is a free social utility designed to share web content with the real world, letting you turn just about anything into a link: a wall, a tree, a shop window, a t-shirt, a pin, a concert poster, a wine bottle, a business card, your own body, the sky's the limit...
uQR.me enables you to connect your online life to the actual one, expanding your horizons, broadening your networks and getting your word out.
How does it work?
It's dead simple.
Step 1: register to get your QR code. You'll get a unique uQR.me username and a personal QR code.
We're sure you've come across a strange square box printed on the cover of a magazine or on an outdoor ad, a newspaper, a wall on the street, a venue or a museum. That pixelated square is called a QR code and can graphically reproduce a URL.
All you have to do is take a picture of the QR code with your mobile and you are automatically redirected to online content. This online content could be a video related to what you're reading, it could be a competition powered by the brand advertised at a bus stop or detailed info about artwork at an exhibition.
In short, QR codes link objects in the "real" world with the web, introducing a new dimension to everyday life.
Step 2: set up your QRlink to connect your QR to whatever resource on the Internet you want: your website, your blog, your Facebook page, a Youtube video, a Soundcloud track, you name it... You can also embed your vCard in it and have your personal uQR.me leaf, where you can easily upload texts, pics and videos.
Remember, your QR code will always stay the same, but you can change your QRlink any time you want, automatically updating all of your QRs.
Step 3: print or stick your QR on any real object you want. People will spot it on the go through their handsets and check the contents you want to share.
What can I do with uQRme?
You can share, connect, inform, involve, express, advertise, sell... You decide what uQR.me is for.
