Best practices and applications

1. Increase the ROI of your branded vehicles

Branded vehicles are a great way to get the word out about your business. Wherever your vehicle is, there are bound to be folks checking it out. But, as with any other form of advertising, branded vehicles alone are passive forms of advertising.

Having a QR code as part of the branded wrapping on a vehicle turns them into active advertising. The beauty of active advertising is that it promotes interaction with your brand. When viewers of your branded vehicle take action to scan your QR code, they are more likely to become fans and followers.

2. Track your path to success

Dynamic QR codes provide you with some basic analytics that will help you determine the relative ROI of your campaign and where you need to make adjustments to boost that ROI. The data our codes give you include when and where your codes were scanned along with how many new and total scans they collect throughout a given day. Plus, they tell you what types of devices and operating systems were used to scan them.

This is real time data you get. Someone scans your code, that scan immediately shows up in the numbers. Download your data into reports to share with your team so everyone knows how amazing your QR codes are doing.

Do it Correctly with QR Codes on Vehicles

There are a few tricks of the trade you can use to enhance your experience with QR codes. Follow these guidelines and your QR codes will get more scans.
Mobile page QR Code
A call to action (CTA) goes a long way toward a successful QR code campaign. If visitors know what they will be getting when they scan the code, they’ll be more likely to scan it. Let them know if your code leads to a great deal or your social media links.
Your logo would look great in the middle of a QR code. Try it and see. We recommend logos that are simple icons with no words. Adding a logo makes your code more trustworthy and increases brand awareness.
We know designing the perfect QR code takes time and creativity. That’s why we save all your gorgeous designs as templates for you in case you want to reuse any of them. Instead of having to recreate all the steps you took to create a design you want to reuse, you just pick the saved template and apply it to a code. These are fantastic for seasonal and recurring promotions or A/B testing.
Every code comes with its own short URL, which is what connects the code to the content. These URLs can be used without the codes for digital promotion. Clicking on them takes visitors to the same content as scanning the code.

If you want to add a little branding power to the short URL, go ahead and edit it to something that reflects your brand.

For a supercharged branding experience, go for the white label masking option. This will mask uQR.me’s involvement and make it seem like the code and the complete URL all comes from your website. Slick.
This is maybe the most important step. You’ll want to test your code with a variety of devices before you commit to printing it. Use both iOS and Android devices, phones and tablets. You just want to be absolutely sure that your code is scannable. The good news is that our automated system will help you with this. We go ahead and analyze your codes after every step of the customization process to make sure they remain scannable. (But, make sure you also test them.)

The minimum size a QR code should be is 3 x 3 cm (1 x 1 in). Technically, there is no maximum size for them, but keep in mind that the larger a code is, the further away a person needs to be to scan it.

Contrast in your QR code should be strong with a darker foreground and a lighter background.
